upon reflection on the whole idea of blogging i am still in the same mind as i was when i started. i do not like it. i feel it is just another pointless exercise that does not help me in any way. i know that after this module i will never use this blog again or even look at it, it will be come just another tiny speck floating around in cyberspace gatering computer generated dust as if in a muesum. if i was really into blogging, i could probably read some really interesting one and send them a link to mine blah blah blah blah. im just more a fan of going somewhere and seeing a person face to face. blogging is just the same as these social networking site it just becomes a fake way to fool people into thinking they have friends or somehow glorify their ideas. doing a blog within the group seems a time wasting exercise, whilst i find it good thinking about audiences, i can just talk to my peers instead of staying silent all day and them going home and telling them through my blog. i shall just tell them then and talk to them in person, if i forget something, i wont blog them to tell it ill ring them or tell them next time. why should i expect a random person or even my peers to look at a random piece of information ive put on the internet when i dont even look at it.

  1. I totally agree with this, although by responding with a blog comment i am undermining my agreement with your statement. However i do need to comment a few people so that we can get our marks for this project and move on to real communication with actual phisical people and things. I wrote a similar thing to this but i wrote it in my sketchbook LOL (is it just me that hates lol ??) (by the way these brackets are nessicary as sarcasm and other mannerisms and emotions are not present in typed communication formats) by the way we're in the same room.

  5. See http://blog.art21.org/ and then crit it. Is this just narcissistic? Or is it a reflection of the lifestyle of a particular community? The problem with any form of communication is that you need to test it in terms of how it works in different situations. Of course for people who work in the same studio it’s false but perhaps there are some uses for it or as a means of communication it would never have been used. For instance, when the telephone was invented the first message was transmitted into the next room. They could of course have just spoken louder. There are now over 200 million blog users. As Marshall McLuhan would say “the medium is the use”. So perhaps the argument is not “do we like using it?” Perhaps we need to examine what its ‘use value’* is?
